Sabrina’s house will be built in the Bean Creek area of White County in the Sautee Nacoochee Valley. Bean Creek is the community where many former slaves settled after emancipation and Sabrina is a fifth generation Bean Creek resident. Sabrina attended North Georgia Technical College studying culinary arts and currently works as a kitchen supervisor at the Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute for Women. She is a lifelong member of the Bean Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the choir.
The Women Build program, underwritten by Lowe's recruits, educates and nurtures women to build - and advocate for - simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities. Lowe's has been a national supporter of Habitat since 2003.
Since 1985, Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Georgia has welcomed 61 families to safe, decent and affordable houses. Habitat homes are sold at no profit to partner families, who pay back a no-interest loan and have contributed sweat equity hours.
